Whatever the Season there's so much to see and do

Beautiful in Autumn

Don't miss the fall colors! There really aren't words to describe it.  Pictures do a better job!

Fall is the time for festivals, hiking the trails, photographing the insane fall colors, tasting the new wines along the wine trails and getting some of the delicious New York apples to take home.  There are so many events and activities that you won't be able to see them all in a week.  Try some of the local artisan goat cheeses or visit the cider and whiskey distilleries in the area. Take a balloon ride to see all the color from the air.  It's a great time to be outside!

Summer is for relaxing

There's so much to do in the Finger Lakes.  But sometimes just taking it easy and relaxing is too good to pass up.  Judy's Guest House is the place for this.  Air conditioning inside, when the weather is too hot to venture out.  A shaded patio with a propane grill is just asking for a Shish-ke-bob and a huge green salad.

Starting in June there is the firefly spectacular.  The lawn, trees and nearby fields are alive with millions of flashing lights.  Time to sit outside with a cool drink and just watch nature at its best.  And there is always a great fireworks display in July.

Or grab a pole (make sure you have a license) and bring home a fresh trout or bass for dinner!  Fishing is really great here and Cayuga Lake hosted the Bassmaster Elite Tournament and Festival in the past.

If you're not the relaxing type, here are just a few things that can make your summer come alive.

So much to do in Winter

Winter is a wonderful time to visit the Finger Lakes and the scenery can be spectacular.  Festivals, wine tastings, skiing - both cross country and downhill, snowboarding, snowshoeing,  hiking, and the fantastic waterfalls are perfect for outdoor lovers.  And for those who prefer to curl up with a cup of hot cocoa in the living room, there's a wood fireplace and lots of books and games.  Or watch the snow falling through the large picture window.  It's warm and cozy inside and just right for relaxing and forgetting about the weather.

"Very nice and cozy place to stay with an amazing view.  Thank you!"

"Thanks for having all the nice pots, pans and dishes available for our Christmas dinner.  Our white Christmas in New York was great!"

"Great spot for a snowy escape."

Spring is for Beginnings

The arrival of spring brings so many exciting new things to see and do.  Birds are starting to nest, spring trees and flowers burst forth, wild animals are preparing to bring babies into the world, and the streams and waterfalls are full and glorious.

The cottage has blooming trees and flowers - the forsythia is striking!  Everything is just starting to turn green and it's time to break out the grill and eat outside.

Take a hike on one of the many hiking trails and watch for Trillium, Spring Beauty,  Trout Lily, Marsh Marigold, Shadbush and Bloodroot, among many others.

"Ithaca graduation weekend stay was terrific!  Great home base, close to everything but out of the buzz of grad crowds in town. Too much to see & do in Ithaca.  Need at least a week next time!"

"We enjoyed the house.  It was a great central location for us to visit the wineries. Thank you for a clean house and comfortable beds."

"Thank you, Judy!  A great weekend.  The natural beauty of this area is staggeringly beautiful.  Of course the Native and Settler history enthralled me.  I spent all weekend in a history daze.  ……..I will return."
